Pearl and Multicolor Bead Bracelet, 925 Sterling Silver
Between sizes? Size up — a little room sits more comfortably.
Spiritual Meaning
Prayer flags are strung across Himalayan passes in five colors, most often read as sky, air, fire, water and earth: blue, white, red, green and yellow.
This bracelet is not a prayer flag, but its colors land close: deep blue, white pearl, red, blue-green and honey-orange.
Pearls are named among the precious substances in several Buddhist sutras, and their white has long been tied to purity.
We see in the mix a small picture of balance, every color present and none crowding the others.
Wear it as a reminder to keep a little of everything in your day: some clarity, some warmth, some sky.

A Handful of Color on White
It starts with white: a row of bright pearls, spaced by small beads of silver. Then, on one side, a handful of color gathered close together, as if picked up one at a time along a road and kept.
A deep blue rondelle. A large silver bead, hammered all over. Two honey-orange discs, warm as late light. A round blue-green bead traced with golden veins, and a small blue-green chip. Elsewhere on the strand, two little red barrel beads.
We like to read the colors, loosely, as the five of a Tibetan prayer flag: blue, white, red, green and something close to yellow, all on one string. That is our reading, not a rule, and part of the pleasure is finding your own.
A hammered S-hook and a short chain set the fit. Each bracelet is strung by hand and the colors fall in different places on each, so the one that comes to you will be arranged its own way.
White to rest the eye, color to wake it.
Pearls, Color Accents and Hammered 925 Silver
About seven rice-shaped white pearls, roughly 8 mm, form the calm part of the circle, each one separated by small 925 sterling silver beads and spacers.
On one side the color gathers: a deep blue rondelle, 8.3 mm; a large hand-hammered silver bead, 9 mm, its surface covered in facets; two honey-orange discs, 8 mm; a round blue-green bead with golden veining, 8.5 mm; and a flatter blue-green chip. Two red barrel beads, 5.3 mm, sit beside small stacks of silver discs elsewhere on the strand.
The bracelet measures about 18 cm (7.1 in), with a 3 cm (1.2 in) extender chain and a hammered S-hook. It weighs about 13.3 g. Because each one is strung by hand, the order of the color beads and the place of the red beads vary from bracelet to bracelet.
Made by Hand
One Bead at a Time
Every strand is threaded and knotted by hand, slowly, the way prayer beads have been made for generations. No two come out quite the same.
