Spiritual Meaning
In Tibetan tradition, dzi beads have been worn close to the body and handed down for generations, kept less as ornaments than as companions.
The round eyes on a dzi are read as auspicious marks, and their number gives each bead its name. Some read three eyes as the Three Jewels of Buddhism: the Buddha, the teacher; the Dharma, the teaching; and the Sangha, the community that walks the path together.
These dzi are agate with a pattern added by hand, not ancient beads. What they carry is the shape of the tradition: a circle of eyes, white against black, that your fingers can find without looking.

Three Eyes, Black and White
In Tibetan tradition, the dzi is among the most treasured of beads, and its round "eyes" are read as auspicious marks. Turn one of these beads in your fingers: a full eye on its face, dark bands crossing into an X along the sides, and half an eye rising at each end. Counted together, they make three eyes that some readers link to the Three Jewels: the Buddha, the Dharma, and the Sangha.
White dzi and glossy black agate take turns around the wrist, nothing more. Wear it to the cushion, to your desk, on a slow walk home. When the day gets loud, find one eye with your thumb and come back to a single breath.
Agate, Patterned by Hand
Every dzi here is agate, its eye pattern made by hand, so the lines run a little thicker on one bead and softer at the edges on the next; no two are exactly alike. Between each dzi sits a black agate bead and a small golden spacer, strung on stretch cord.
The number of dzi changes with the size: 7 dzi for wrists of 5.1–5.9 in (13–15 cm), up to 11 dzi for 9.4–10.6 in (24–27 cm). Between sizes, size up; it slides on more easily.
