Vajra Drop Earrings with Red and Blue Stones
Spiritual Meaning
The vajra, called dorje in Tibetan, is one of the central ritual objects of Tibetan Buddhism. Its Sanskrit name carries two meanings at once, diamond and thunderbolt: something that cannot be broken, and something that cuts through in a single flash.
In Tibetan tradition it is associated with steadiness, with clarity, and with the indestructible nature of the awakened mind, the part of us said to stay whole beneath passing thoughts and moods.
In ritual the dorje is held in the right hand and paired with a bell in the left. The dorje is traditionally said to stand for skillful means and compassion, the bell for wisdom; held together, they express the union of the two.
Red and blue are among the most familiar colors in Tibetan adornment, warm and cool side by side. Here they appear as a red stone and a blue stone set around the center of the vajra.
Wear them as a quiet reminder to stay steady and clear, whatever the day brings.

A Small Dorje at Each Ear
Turn one in your fingers and it reads like a tiny lantern. Two open cages of fine metal ribs, each gathering to a point, meet at a narrow band at the center, where small red and blue stones sit in their settings like an ember and a piece of sky. Light passes straight through the ribs. From across a room the shape is unmistakable: the vajra, or dorje, of Tibetan altars, made small enough to hang from the ear.
A round bead sits at the top, just below the U-shaped ear wire, and a smaller one closes the bottom point. They hang about 5.5 cm and move with you, swaying a little when you laugh and settling again when you are still. Wear them on a slow morning, to a long dinner, or anywhere you want to carry something steady without saying a word.
Openwork Cages, Red and Blue Stones
Each earring is a vajra (dorje) form worked in openwork: two open halves of slender metal ribs that curve outward and gather again toward each end. Where the halves meet, a center band holds small round cabochons, red stones and blue stones, each in its own bezel. The stones are opaque and smooth, and their color varies slightly from pair to pair.
At the top, a small round bead links the cage to a ring and a U-shaped ear wire; at the bottom, a finishing bead closes the point. Each earring is about 5.5 cm long from the ear wire, with a drop of about 4 cm. Sold as one pair.
